A Georgia couple gave up a 2,000-square-foot home for an 860-square-foot Home Depot shed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Lucido and his wife, Meghan, found themselves in financial trouble, which forced them to sell their home in the town of Cumming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe never missed a mortgage payment,\u201d Nick told The Post. \u201cWe were both just really young \u2014 young professionals. And we had two brand new cars, brand new house, and we were just over our head in debt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March 2020, at the stateside onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the Lucidos purchased a plot of land spanning 8.46 acres for $40,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe saw a two-story shed in the Home Depot parking lot, and said, \u2018I think we could make that work.’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there, they purchased the shed and starting slowly working to turn it into a home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Nick, they lived in a camper van until the shed was ready for use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They revealed in an\u00a0Instagram post<\/a>\u00a0that this unusual move led them to being debt-free, paying off $82,000 in nine months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a now-viral TikTok video<\/a>, with nearly 2 million views, Nick showed off the shed house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf you go to any Home Depot, at least in the southeast, you go inside of their parking lot, you\u2019ll typically see sheds \u2026 this right here is actually a tiny home, Tuff shed from Home Depot, two stories, 860 square feet, one-bedroom, full kitchen, full living room, the porch, then of course we got a chicken coop back there \u2026 a deck with our above-ground pool and a trampoline for the little one, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of Nick\u2019s followers were curious to know where their son slept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TikToker decided to do a full interior house tour, where he showed viewers his son\u2019s crib in the sole bedroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He resumed showing off the rest of the bedroom, which included a full washer\/dryer area in one closet along with a full walk-in closet for their wardrobe and a shower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re living my dream. I wanna see the chickens,\u201d one follower said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGive me land over a mansion any day,\u201d another commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the good news?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After being debt-free and saving up some money, they were able to flip the shed they had bought on the great piece of land, ultimately selling it in December for $312,000, records show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, Nicholas took to TikTok to reveal their new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The caption read: \u201cA lot has changed. Good thing for a crazy market and people\u2019s love for tiny homes! We just completed this build.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lucidos\u2019 new house, dubbed \u201cthe farmhouse,\u201d is an actual structure being built from the ground up on their new land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Painted white, the two-story home features an open porch, on what appears to be a good amount of land as well \u2014 perfect for their growing family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe ability to pay off everything, move into a camper, and literally be debt-free was the most freeing experience that I think anyone can ever experience,\u201d Nick explained. \u201cIt put us in a position where we could buy some land, and we moved the camper to the land while we were building that little shed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd that was when COVID hit and the market started doing crazy things. And that is when we had a guy come by and offer us money more than we could ever imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick revealed that the $312,000 they were able to secure led them to be able to build a completely new house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe moved in February this year,\u201d Nick revealed. \u201cHouse is all done. And we got the dream home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
